Privacy
The short version: we know almost nothing about you as a reader, and we don’t want to. The longer version is below.
When you read
Karkulka uses no cookies, analytics tools, advertising networks, tracking pixels or embedded content from other websites. Our fonts are stored on our own server, so when you open a page your browser contacts no one else.
The pages are stored on servers run by Vercel Inc., based in the USA, which delivers them to your browser. Like any web server, it records technical details of each request, such as the IP address, the time, the address of the page requested and the type of browser. These are used to run the service and protect it from abuse. How Vercel handles them is described in its privacy policy. We do not analyse these logs to track readers.
When you use the tools
The hospital bag checklist, the Wrap or carrier? helper and the clothing size finder run only in your browser. They store and send nothing. If you tick or choose something, it is written only into the page address (after the # or ? sign), so that you can save or send it. The host may record these parts of the address when the page is next loaded; they contain only the ticked items, not information about you.
When you write to us
If you write to napiste@karkulka.sk, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message. We use them only to reply and to deal with what you ask (for example, correcting an article). We do not sell them or pass them on to anyone. We keep the correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with the matter, and then delete it. Please do not send us health information about yourself or your baby; we cannot answer health questions in any case.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you can ask for access to the data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, and object to its processing. Just write to the same address. If you feel we are handling your data wrongly, you can contact the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov).
Changes
If we ever start using a tool that handles data differently (for example visitor statistics), we will first update this page and state the change clearly.
